Abstract

Rhabdomyolysis develops due to skeletal muscle cell damage. One of the most important complications of rhabdomyolysis is acute kidney injury. Herein, we present a case found to have normal renal function at first hospital admission due to epileptic convulsion, but who eventually progressed to rhabdomyolysisinduced acute kidney injury. Rhabdomyolysis due to epileptic seizure is a rare cause of acute kidney injury. Although normal renal function in patients suffering from epileptic convulsion can be detected on the day of convulsion, impaired renal function can be observed in the following days. These patients should be monitored closely in terms of the development of acute kidney injury.
