Exercise-Induced Acute Kidney Injury: A Case of Renal Hypouricemia

Abstract

Hereditary renal hypouricemia is a rare inherited disorder characterized by reduced tubular reabsorption of urate and low serum urate levels. Although it is usually asymptomatic, it may be complicated by exercise-induced acute kidney injury. In this case report we discuss a patient who had exercise-induced acute kidney injury associated with renal hypouricemia.
